Questions, gently asked

Everything people write in about, answered plainly. If yours is not here, write to the Bureau and a clerk will reply.

What am I actually buying?

Is this a real website?

Yes. It is a real, working subdomain with a real certificate page at it - not a PDF, an e-card, or an image. They can visit it, share it, screenshot it and bookmark it. On Super Amazing and above you can also point it at any other URL you like.

Does the recipient need an account?

No. They click the link and the certificate loads. No sign-up, no app, no password, nothing to install. That is rather the point.

What if my person isn't actually that amazing?

Statistically unlikely. Everyone is amazing at something. The Bureau maintains a 0% rejection rate on this question.

Names and pricing

What is a Name of Distinction?

Some names are in unusually high demand - popular first names, single letters, two-letter words, and vanity words like mom, boss or pizza. These carry a 2x tariff at every tier. The availability check tells you before you pay, not at the payment step.

How does billing work?

You prepay by the year, picking a term of one to ten years at checkout. Terms of three years and up are discounted, to 30% off at ten. There is no monthly plan, no subscription and no surprise auto-charges. Full detail on the pricing page.

Can I change the name later?

The address itself is fixed once purchased, the same way a domain name is - the name is what you are buying. Everything else is changeable at any time from your dashboard: theme, redirect target, share text and background colour, depending on tier.

Renewals and refunds

What happens when the term ends?

We email a renewal reminder before your term ends, and another during a 30-day grace period afterwards. You can renew from your dashboard at any point in that window. Only if it is still unrenewed after the grace period does the certificate come down and the name return to circulation. Nothing is ever charged automatically.

What about refunds?

If something went wrong, write to support@isreallyamazing.com within 14 days of purchase and a Bureau clerk will make it right.

Gifting

Can I give one as a gift?

Yes, and most people do - it is the main reason the Bureau exists. A fuller gift flow with a scheduled reveal email and a personal note is being embossed and opens soon. Until then: buy the name, send them the link, watch them beam. It works perfectly well.

Is it a good last-minute gift?

It is close to the best one available, because there is nothing to ship. About a minute from deciding to sending. More on that on the last-minute gift page.

Keepsakes

Can I get a physical copy?

Two ways. A print-ready PDF for $7, sized for A4 or US Letter and ready to frame. Or a fine-art print for $34.90, an unframed 8x10 on 200gsm paper, posted to you - currently United States only. Both are optional one-off additions, at checkout or later from your dashboard.

Privacy and the small print

Is the certificate page public?

Yes. It lives at a real web address, so anyone with the link can open it. Certificates are also listed in our sitemap so they can be found by search. Bear that in mind when choosing a name - use a nickname if you would rather it were not searchable.

Is the Bureau a real government agency?

It is not. The International Bureau of Really Amazingness is a delightful fiction. The certificate is a novelty gift and confers no legal status, tax advantage, or diplomatic immunity. See the terms and privacy policy for the genuinely dry version.

The fastest way to understand it is to type a name and watch the certificate fill in.
